Kumano Shrine

Kumano Shrine is tutelary shrine of this area. At the right side of its building there are 6 small shrines, which is dedicated the Sun-Goddness of Japan (called as Amaterasu Oomikam). It boast an impressive collection of ginkgo trees that no one describes its beautifulness in Autum season. It has a big festival on January 28th. and there is a famous story related to the festival that when bell rings the God comes out, making sounds of "Dong Dong"(patter patter in English onomatopée). However, it used to be a story that the ringing bell surprises a small animal, Ten, inhabiting in the bulding and the sounds "Dong Dong" was made when Ten comes out from the bulding in a hurry.
