At Kataseyama Station (Shonan Monorail), there is a big Kawazu Cherry Blossom, which blooms in early February. During the school entering examination season, the name 片瀬山駅(Kataseyama Station) changes into 勝たせ山駅 (Kataseyama Station). 勝たせ means "let me win" in Japanese. Thus, people, especially students, come this station to wish their fortune in their examination. If you want to see more cherry blossom trees, we recommend you to go Nishi-Kamakura Suzume Park, which is located on the way to Nishi Kamakura from Kataseyama Station.
